Reporting Relationship: The Process Engineer reports to the Manufacturing Manager Basic Function: The Process Engineer to play a key role in the continued growth and success of the company. The engineer’s overall role will be to support manufacturing and other engineering functions in attaining on-time delivery of quality molded products in a safe and cost efficient manner through superior processes and efficient implementation. Specific Responsibilities • Design injection molding processes using Scientific Molding principles and/or other similar methodologies • Perform a variety of duties related to the tooling, setup, processing and maintenance of molding machines • Teach and instruct molding and troubleshooting procedures to other colleagues and co-workers • Implement tooling and/or processing changes to maintain or reduce cycle times and ensure compliance with customer quality specifications • Assist in start-up of new/existing production jobs, and set-up machines to run standard quoted cycles • Use root cause analysis to optimize processes • Work with production staff to maintain machine efficiency, scrap rate, and machine downtime at acceptable levels • Propose, manage and implement continuous improvement projects • Collaborate with design and tooling engineer(s) by providing input in part design for manufacturability & material selection • Play a key role in new product development through prototype process / product development Educational Requirements • BS degree in Plastics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical disciple. • A candidate with equivalent, technically-related job experience would be considered Experience & Attributes Required • 5 " 10 years of industry experience is preferred • Ability to squat, lift and turn while holding up to 40 pounds is necessary • Use of calipers, micrometers and basic hand measurement tools is required • Familiar or working knowledge of PFMEA, DOE, SPC and APQP processes. • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, with a good command of English is necessary • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer • RJG Master Molder certified (at least 1 module) OR formal scientific molding training Compensation and Benefits • Competitive Salary • Medical, Dental, STD & Life Insurance • 401(k) Plan, with employer match The Novo Group is an equal opportunity employer and recruitment services provider and does not unlawfully discriminate against any applicant or candidate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, or any other class protected by federal or state law. keywords: Plastic Injection Molding Process Engineer Jobs, Employment, Injection Molding Jobs, Blow Molding Jobs, Extrusion Molding Jobs, Rotational Molding Jobs, Manufacturing Jobs, Blow Mold, Injection Mold, Molding Careers, Chicago Illinois Jobs, Thermoplastics, PFMEA, DOE, SPC and APQP
